WHO Global report on hypertension: the race against a silent killer (2023)

The World Health Organization's 2023 global report on hypertension. WHO says it compiles data for the first time on the far-reaching consequences of uncontrolled hypertension, including heart attacks, strokes and early death, and on the economic losses for communities and countries, and that it gives the burden of hypertension and the progress of control efforts by region and country. Among adults aged 30 to 79 years with hypertension, it estimates that in 2019 54% had been diagnosed, 42% were treated and 21% had it controlled.
